Program Overview:

Ethics is all about having a discussion aimed at finding a solution that has the best possible outcome for the patient and their families that is most aligned with the patient’s wishes.

This webinar will explain the purpose of advanced care planning, how to execute them, and how to begin the ever-important ‘conversation’ with loved ones.

Program Objectives

  1. Understand what an advanced objective is, and compare to the MOLST/POLST form
  2. Learn how to begin ‘the conversation’.
  3. Discuss “palliative” care, the misnomer, and the reality that “hospice” is not a bad word, but a positive game changer that can help the patient/family ensure a dignified death as they transition through the process.
  4. Explore the ethical principle of autonomy and how having ‘the conversation’ allowing all to honor the patient’s wishes.
