We all know that Illness is stressful for the patient as well as the caregiver. Studies show the less stress people have the more they can focus your energy on getting well. Clutter and disorganization can take its toll and inhibit people from moving forward. Disorganizations makes it more difficult to relax, both physically and mentally. A disorganized space signals to our brain that our work is never done. Most critically, disorganization can leave people feeling depressed, overwhelmed, anxious, even paralyzed. When you look at clutter objectively and examine the negatives of a cluttered home juxtaposed against the positives of a streamlined and functional space, taking even small steps to reduce clutter can have a big impact.

Helping the patient/family and their caregivers be organized is a key role patient/health advocates play, but for some situations it might be better to bring in a professional organizer who can help those with prolonged medical condition be better organized and worry less.

The National Association of Healthcare Advocacy December CE Webinar will turn the focus on the role and value a professional organizer and how it can help our patients and their families address the root cause of disorganization. To explore this area, we have invited two experts in the field to share how they can assist patients/health advocates bring order to disorder.

  1. Define the role and value a professional organizer can bring to a disorganized situation
  2. Explain situations that call for a professional organizer such as hoarding
