Advocacy Spotlight: Advocate of the Year - Emily Bernstein
We are thrilled to congratulate our colleague, Emily Bernstein, for being named the Independent Advocate of the Year at the 2024 Healthcare Advocate Summit! Emily brings a creative and innovative approach in efforts to support refugees and the underserved population in her Rhode Island Community. In her own words, she is “bridging the gap between the medical world and home life.” As a member of both NAHAC and MAHCA, Emily’s unparalleled compassion and expertise as a Board Certified Patient Advocate and Certified Community Health Worker truly make her a powerhouse in the health care and patient advocacy profession.
In the past year, Emily has expanded her business, hired employees, and enhanced her non-profit initiatives. She also collaborates closely with Rhode Island state Medicaid and government agencies to ensure refugees receive essential services and support. Emily's commitment to her community and healthcare advocacy is nothing short of remarkable!
“Emily's combination of service, business acumen, innovation, and commitment to equity distinguishes her as an outstanding independent advocate. We are proud to honor her achievements!”
